Lebanese President Michel Aoun signed on Tuesday an exceptional approval for a three-week lockdown.
National News Agency reported that the president signed on approval for a full lockdown starting Thursday January 7, until Monday February 1, as part of efforts to confront surge in coronavirus infections.
The agency added that the approval was based on the proposal of the Prime Minister and the appointed Ministerial Committee for follow-up on Corona pandemic.
Meanwhile, President Aoun agreed on the Health Minister Hamad Hasan’s proposal to sign a contract with “Pfizer” company for buying necessary Corona vaccines.
The exceptional approval is issued after the Prime Minister’s signature, according to NNA.
