Syrian army units and allied forces continued on Sunday their progress towards the southern part of eastern Aleppo neighborhood after evacuating thousands of civilians from the region.
The national military seized control over two more neighborhoods amid collapse among armed groups, and managed to regain the most significant stronghold of Al-Nusra Front terrorist group in the southern part of Sheikh Saeed neighborhood.
This advance makes the armed groups seized within 5 km2 out of 45 km2 – area of eastern neighborhood of Aleppo, i.e. 2% of Aleppo city area.
