Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based International Organizations said that Iran is seeking a solution at the end of the negotiations to revive JCPOA, not long-term talks.

In an interview with Al-Arabiya, Mikhail Ulyanov said that 90% of the disputes between Iran and Western countries over the JCPOA have been resolved.

“I believe that by June 20, when the sixth round of the Vienna talks ended, 90% of the disputes had been resolved and about 10% of the disputes remained, so solutions to the remaining disputes should be found as soon as possible,” he said.

“Tehran also says that it seeks a solution and not long-term negotiations at the end of the talks, and I believe that all negotiating parties have the same view,” he added.

Iran has held six rounds of talks with JCPOA participants known as the P4+1 with the aim of salvaging the JCPOA in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

Tehran has insisted that it would resume full compliance with the deal after the full removal of the sanctions that the previous US administration under former US president Donald Trump imposed on Tehran after its unilateral and illegitimate withdrawal from the JCPOA in May 2018.
