The Lebanese prime minister Najib Mikati met on Friday with the French President Emmanuel Macron at Elysee Palace in Paris to discuss France plans to help Lebanon cope with ongoing crisis.
In a joint press conference, Mikati vowed to take the necessary measures to revitalize Lebanon’s economy, adding that the government is committed to hold the parliamentary elections scheduled in 2022.
For his part, Macron reiterated France support to Lebanon, adding that it deserved better conditions.
Macron indicated that Lebanon will not obtain the international community’s support if it does not conduct the needed reforms, especially in the monetary field.
