Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani lauded the coming into force of the 25-year agreement with China in defiance of the US sanctions as a “strategic success for Tehran”.
“The implementation of the 25-year agreement between Iran & China, as the second largest economy in the world, is a strategic success for Tehran,” Shamkhani said in a post on his Twitter account on Monday.
He said such an achievement is gained “while the United States continues to exclude Iran from global economic interactions through unilateralism and continued pressure.”
According to Iran’s Finance Minister Ehsan Khandouzi, the government departments from Iran and China have started detailed talks to reach concrete investment and cooperation agreements after the 25-year partnership between the two countries formally went into effect.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi signed final documents to announce the start of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries on Friday.
