Syria’s international airport in Aleppo resumed business on Friday after the facility was put out of commission by Israeli missile attacks, the country’s transport ministry said.
In a statement, the ministry said that the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority had repaired the damages caused by the Israeli strikes in coordination with state companies, adding that flights would resume at noon.
The statement also said that the airport will do its utmost in order to be able to serve travelers around the clock.
Israeli warplanes launched a missile attack on Tuesday night targeting Aleppo’s airport for the second time in a week and all flights were diverted to the capital Damascus.
Israeli warplanes also launched airstrikes at Aleppo airport last week, damaging its runway.
The Israeli occupation regularly carries out illegal airstrikes in Syria on what it claims to be Iranian or Hezbollah targets.
