Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation on Wednesday.
The two presidents reportedly discussed issues of bilateral importance and regional developments.
The presidents of Iran and Russia had weighed in November, 2022, plans for closer economic cooperation between the two countries through the promotion of transit routes in the Eurasian region, including the major North-South Corridor project.
Putin had also visited Tehran in July, 2022, for a Syria summit with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, knowing that he further met with the Supreme Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khameni.
