In a rebuke to countries seeking to establish closer ties with ‘Israel’, Imam sayyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, has warned that they risk losing as “the Zionist regime is perishable.” Speaking at an international unity conference in Tehran, sayyed Khamenei said governments that normalize relations with ‘Israel’ as a model are making a mistake and are “betting on a losing horse.”
The leader added that the situation in ‘Israel’ is not conducive to closeness given the malice the country holds against Muslim countries.
He also criticized the “designers of these crimes and hateful acts,” including the desecration of the Holy Quran in the West, which he called a stark example of hostility towards Islam.
His remarks come amid reports of unofficial contacts between Saudi Arabian and Israeli officials, which have sparked controversy in the Arab world.
