“We will continue to develop administrative plans in order to protect Lebanon and to maintain its civil peace,” Director-General of General Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, said during the inauguration of the Regional General Security Center in Shebaa.
General Ibrahim added that the aim to open a Regional General Security Center was for the nation’s sake, to facilitate the completion of citizens’ transactions, to ease the burden and to support the steadfastness and the adherence to their land.
The General thanked Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon, General Michael Beary, for offering logistic aids for the center as well as for UNIFIL’s efforts in guaranteeing security and stability based on Security Council resolution 1701.
He concluded that the General Security Center in Shebaa would provide for Shebaa citizens’ the best services and would be a way to respond to any Zionist threat against the Lebanese in general and especially for those who live in the south.
