Amal Movement Reiterates Rejection of “Framework Agreement” with Zionist Enemy

Amal Movement issued on Friday a statement on the occasion of its Martyr’s Day, reiterating its rejection of the “Framework Agreement” with the Zionist enemy.

The Movement also affirmed its support to the Lebanese Army, denouncing the Israeli attempts to utilize its soldiers and officers for the sake of its interests.

What follows is the text of the statement:

Between 5 July 1975 and 5 July 2026, the profound pain remains the same, while the fragrance of youth and sacrifice continues to spread throughout every corner for the sake of Lebanon and in defense of its freedom and sovereignty. The caravans of martyrs remain an echo of a resounding call and a testament whose light first shone from the Bekaa, from Ain Al-Bunniyeh, through the cry of the Founder Imam, His Eminence Sayyed Musa Al-Sadr: “Our martyrs sought to prove that patriotism is neither slogans nor profits and gains, nor a commodity for bargaining or for supply and demand. Rather, the homeland embodies the dimensions of man’s existence, the foundation of his dignity, and the sphere of his mission. Our martyrs offered themselves as a sacrifice for truth and justice.”

To the first group of martyrs of the Movement’s founding, to all the martyrs of the Amal Movement and the Civil Defense of the Islamic Risala Scout Association, and to all the martyrs who followed this path and drew from the inexhaustible sea of sacrifice, loyalty, dedication, and steadfastness, we extend our greetings of pride and appreciation. On this occasion, the Movement reaffirms the following principles:

First: The “Israeli” aggression targeting Lebanon in general, and the Bekaa, the southern suburb of Beirut, and southern Lebanon in particular—continuing in various forms through killings, the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents of southern villages, and the systematic destruction of dozens of villages under the cover of the ceasefire, rendering them unfit for life and human habitation—must not be mistaken by any Lebanese, whether in positions of authority, the opposition, or those aligned with the government, as targeting a specific sect, region, political party, or movement.

Rather, it is an aggression against Lebanon as a whole, against all its sects, and against its civilizational, spiritual, cultural, historical, and humanitarian model. It is an aggression that rises to the level of a war of extermination, requiring the combined efforts of national, regional, and international actors to bring it to an immediate end in a manner that preserves Lebanon’s unity and sovereignty, returns its people to the homes from which they were unjustly displaced, and imposes the unconditional withdrawal of the occupation forces beyond the internationally recognized borders, alongside the deployment of the Lebanese Army in the areas from which the occupation withdraws, in implementation of the ceasefire agreement concluded in November 2024.

This must be done without any attempt to exploit the battlefield realities created by this aggression for cheap domestic political purposes or to advance well-known “Israeli” expansionist ambitions. We categorically reject such objectives and will confront them through every available legal and constitutional means.

Second: The Movement renews its categorical rejection of everything contained in the so-called Framework Agreement, whether through the so-called pilot areas or through the overt “Israeli” attempt, reflected in both the public provisions and the secret annex, to transform the Lebanese Army into a judicial enforcement body serving the occupation’s agenda and its plans to sow discord.

Accordingly, the Movement affirms that the Lebanese Army—its Commander, officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers—remains the true guarantee. This unifying national institution, with its firmly established doctrine, is above suspicion and constitutes a red line that cannot be crossed under any title or under any circumstances.

Third: The Movement affirms that the crimes committed by the “Israeli” war machine against children, humanity, heritage, culture, the economy, agricultural lands, journalists, ambulance crews, healthcare and educational institutions, as well as religious and spiritual sites and symbols—and in the commission of which “Israel” employed various types of lethal weapons, including weapons prohibited under international law, in violation of all the rules of international humanitarian law—constitute full-fledged war crimes.

Under no circumstances, whether through a Framework Agreement or any other treaty, may these crimes be extinguished by prescription or the passage of time. The criminal record and the pursuit of those responsible are not subject to statutes of limitation, nor can they be whitewashed through agreements.

Fourth: Finally, the Movement renews its call to all Lebanese, without exception, to reject the rhetoric of hatred and incitement and to uphold what unites them—Lebanon—which has always been, and must remain, within its internationally recognized borders and without any “pilot areas,” the final homeland for all its people.
