Iran’s Ghalibaf to Hamas Delegation: Iran Will Never Make Peace With the US or Recognize “Israel”

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf (R) meets with Hamas Leadership Council chief Mohammad Darwish in Tehran on the sidelines of the farewell ceremony for the martyred leader, Grand Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf affirmed that diplomacy and negotiations must serve to resolve military challenges while preserving and consolidating the achievements of the resistance, stressing that such an approach can succeed only when the state remains fully prepared to defend itself.

Ghalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with Mohammad Darwish, head of Hamas’ Leadership Council in its Political Bureau, and the accompanying delegation on the sidelines of the farewell ceremony for the martyred leader, Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei. The two sides discussed several issues of mutual interest.

The Iranian parliament speaker thanked the Palestinian delegation for attending the memorial ceremony and referred to the Islamabad negotiations, emphasizing the need to avoid “negotiations for the sake of negotiations.” He said diplomacy and negotiations must be capable of resolving military confrontations while safeguarding and strengthening the achievements of the resistance fighters.

He stressed that avenging the martyred Imam lies in the liberation of Al-Quds, declaring: “We are not at peace with the United States, nor will we recognize the so-called ‘Israel.’ In line with the directives of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, we will continue to support Muslims and the Resistance Front. If necessary, that support will come through missiles, and when political pressure is required, it will be exercised through negotiations.”

Ghalibaf also underscored the pivotal role of Islamic countries, saying their positions at the current stage are of exceptional importance and that they have come to realize cooperation with the United States and the Zionist entity does not bring security.

Addressing the Palestinian resistance fighters, he said: “We must all sincerely pledge before God to remain prepared for jihad and martyrdom while also being ready to defeat the enemy. Whichever of the two is attained, it is the supreme victory.”

For his part, Darwish offered his deepest condolences over the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei, describing participation in the farewell ceremony as a duty incumbent upon all resistance fighters.

“In our doctrine, there is only victory or martyrdom; defeat has no place,” he said.

“Operation Al-Aqsa Flood inflicted the greatest defeat on the Zionist entity since its establishment and shattered the prestige of both the United States and the Zionist entity.”

Referring to three years of the blockade on Gaza, Darwish said the United States and the Zionist entity had failed to break the resistance, adding that they had also completely failed to achieve their objective of toppling the Islamic Republic during the recent war.

He praised the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic achievements, saying the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States represents “a major victory” for the Resistance Front and that every provision of the agreement constitutes a victory for Iran and a defeat for Washington.

Darwish added that he particularly welcomed the inclusion of a provision concerning Iran’s allies in the Resistance Front within the memorandum, saying it demonstrated that the Islamic Republic had also succeeded through diplomacy in shifting the balance of power in favor of the Islamic Ummah.

He concluded by expressing hope that, through unity and solidarity, the Islamic Ummah would succeed in bringing an end to the war and aggression in the occupied Palestinian territories.
