West Bank: Two Palestinians Wounded by Occupation Gunfire, Dozens Arrested

Two Palestinians young men sustained bullet wounds on Sunday evening after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire on them in the town of ad-Dhahiriya, south of al-Khalil (Hebron).

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed central neighborhoods of the town and began firing live ammunition at young men, injuring two. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated its ambulance crews evacuated both casualties, who were suffering from gunshot injuries to their legs, to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Widespread Arrests Target West Bank and Jerusalem

In a separate series of overnight raids extending into dawn Monday, the IOF arrested a number of Palestinian citizens from their homes across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. Among those detained was a senior Hamas official.

According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces arrested Sheikh Maher al-Kharraz from his son’s home in the al-Tur area of Nablus. Sheikh Kharraz, a noted religious figure affiliated with Hamas and the father of a martyr from the al-Qassam Brigades, has previously served several years in Israeli prisons. His home in Nablus’s Old City was reportedly raided and ransacked the previous day, with family members assaulted during the incursion.

Additional arrests were reported across multiple regions.

IOF raids were also reported in other areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem without immediate reports of arrests.

In a separate incident, the Red Crescent reported that a 30-year-old man was injured after being struck in the head by a stone thrown by Israeli settlers near the Huwara checkpoint, south of Nablus. Paramedics provided first aid before transferring him to a hospital.

The society also confirmed a 39-year-old man was transferred to the hospital after being assaulted by Israeli soldiers in the village of Awarta, southeast of Nablus.
