Evacuating the Sick: US Projectiles Strike Near Children’s Cancer Ward as Fresh Assault Engulfs Southern Iran

In a fresh wave of unprovoked American aggression, multiple projectiles struck the vicinity of a children’s cancer hospital in the southwestern city of Ahvaz on Wednesday, forcing the frantic evacuation of young chemotherapy patients as explosions reverberated across several southern provinces.

Residents reported hearing successive detonations across multiple parts of the city, with Fars News Agency confirming that several rounds landed perilously close to Baqaei Hospital a specialist facility treating cancer patients, including children undergoing intensive chemotherapy. Medical staff, assisted by terrified patients’ families, immediately initiated emergency procedures to evacuate the wards, relocating frightened patients amid the chaos. Initial assessments indicated that all those requiring acute care would be transferred to alternative healthcare facilities.

Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences later announced that, following the enemy attacks and explosions in areas immediately adjacent to the facility, the hospital “has been temporarily taken out of service to ensure the safety of patients and staff.”

Explosions Cascade from Chabahar to Qeshm

The US strikes were not confined to Ahvaz. In the southeastern port city of Chabahar, situated in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, residents also reported hearing multiple powerful explosions.

Meanwhile, Iranian news agencies confirmed that a location near the strategic port of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan Province came under US attack at approximately 10:45 p.m. local time. The bombardment continued into the early morning hours, with residents of Sirik reporting impacts at 12:55 a.m., followed by multiple strikes targeting locations near Qeshm Island at precisely 12:57 a.m., according to the Hormozgan Governor-General’s Office.

CENTCOM Announces New Aggression as Violations Mount

The US Central Command (CENTCOM), overseeing American military deployments across West Asia, formally announced the launch of this latest wave of aggression against Iranian territory—an offensive that continues to expand despite previously agreed-upon ceasefire frameworks.

Washington has perpetrated repeated violations against Iran since April 7, when US President Donald Trump declared a unilateral ceasefire amid the most recent bout of wholesale American-Israeli military action targeting the Islamic Republic. Those violations have persisted even after Tehran and Washington signed a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding last month—an accord whose very first clause explicitly mandates a complete cessation of aggression on all fronts.

Maritime Tensions Escalate as Iran Vows Retaliation

In parallel with the aerial bombardment, the United States has continued its efforts to circumvent Iran’s designated maritime safety corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, attempting to illegally escort trespassing vessels through unauthorised passageways—a direct challenge to Iranian sovereignty over the vital waterway.

Iran’s Armed Forces, however, have staged uncompromising and calculated retaliation against each instance of violation, holding firm in their commitment to defend national territorial integrity. With US strikes now directly endangering medical facilities and civilian populations, Tehran’s military apparatus has reiterated its readiness to escalate its response, warning that the enemy’s continued aggression will be met with proportionate and resolute counteraction.
