Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi vowed that Iran would defend every part of its territory after a US attack killed three villagers at a bridge in the southern city of Bandar Khamir, saying their blood would “never be in vain.”

In a post on his X account on Friday evening, Araqchi mourned the three civilians who were martyred while crossing the Bandar Khamir Bridge, describing them as completely innocent and stressing that Iran would continue defending its homeland “from south to north, and from east to west” until its last breath.

“3 villagers were martyred while crossing the Bandar Khamir Bridge. They were absolutely innocent, and we will never allow their blood to be in vain,” the foreign minister said.

“Iran is our homeland—from south to north, and from east to west. We will defend every inch of our land until our very last breath,” Araqchi stressed.

His remarks came as US attacks on southern Iran continued to inflict civilian casualties and damage critical infrastructure. In one of the latest incidents, a US strike on the Tappe Allah neighborhood of Bandar Abbas killed a woman and wounded eight other civilians on Friday, while her one-year-old child suffered catastrophic injuries, including the amputation of a hand and severe shrapnel wounds that left the infant in critical condition.

Emergency and medical teams rushed to the scene immediately after the attack. According to local reports, seven of the wounded sustained blast injuries, while another suffered multiple fractures. Iranian officials condemned the strike as part of a broader pattern of attacks targeting civilian areas.

The Bandar Abbas attack was carried out during a wider wave of US strikes across Hormozgan Province late Thursday and early Friday. Iranian authorities said the attacks killed at least eight civilians and wounded 19 others while destroying six bridges and other key transportation infrastructure. In one of the deadliest incidents, a vehicle plunged from a bridge on the Bandar Abbas–Lar route after it was struck, killing seven people and injuring nine others.

The strikes also hit the Bandar Abbas railway junction, injuring two people and disrupting rail traffic, while explosions and projectile impacts were reported in Masan village on Qeshm Island, Bandar Lengeh, and Sirik County. Iran’s Health Ministry has said that since the outbreak of the July war, US attacks have killed at least 38 people and wounded more than 400, including women and children, with dozens of injured victims still hospitalized.
