Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said it intercepted and destroyed a US MQ9 drone in Ahvaz, a city in the eastern Khuzestan region that borders Iraq, Iran’s state-run broadcaster IRIB reported on Sunday.
An MQ-9 is a large, remotely piloted unmanned aerial vehicle designed primarily for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and air strikes, according to a description by the US Air Force.

Meanwhile on Sunday, a senior Iranian military commander warned the United States that any further “aggression, bullying or savagery” would be met with a “decisive and devastating response” and would impose heavier costs.
In a message, Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Command, said the Iranian Armed Forces would dedicate all their capacity to strengthening unity between the military, the people and officials across the three branches of government to guarantee national interests, defend the people’s rights and preserve national security.

He pledged allegiance to the new Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, and said the Armed Forces would follow his directives.
