Hezbollah Lawmaker: Goal of Crushing Resistance Has Fallen

Member of “Loyalty to Resistance” Parliamentary Bloc, Dr. Ehab Hamadeh, affirmed that the goals set during the Israeli wars on Lebanon were based on eradicating the Resistance and its community.

Addressing a memorial ceremony held to honor the martyrs in Sohmor town, MP Hamadeh said, “The goals set during the Israeli wars and attacks were ‘zero-sum goals’ based on eliminating the other side and ending its existence, noting that the project aimed to destroy the south, displace its people and eliminate the environment that nurtures resistance, in order to guarantee the security of the Israeli entity and its future. However, these goals, as he put it, fell due to the steadfastness of the resistance and the resilience of its people.”

Hezbollah lawmaker maintained that the Israeli-American project was still ongoing with different political tools, but that it would not achieve what it failed to impose through war.

MP Hamadeh concluded by emphasizing that the conflict still revolves around the Iranian nuclear file, considering that the American and Israeli pressures aim to improve the terms of negotiation, but that the Islamic Republic is holding fast to its principles and will not make concessions that affect its rights or strategic options.
