Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei declared Monday that no political or military pretext can justify the United States’ deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure across Iran, condemning recent attacks on hospitals, schools, and vital transportation links as indefensible acts of aggression.

Addressing reporters at his weekly press briefing, Baghaei specifically denounced the February 28 assault on an elementary school in the southern city of Minab, asserting that the strike was “vicious” and unequivocally deliberate leaving no room for justification under any legal or moral framework.

“No political or military claim can justify the suffering of a child waiting in the hospital for treatment, or the anxiety of a family whose city’s connecting bridge has been destroyed,” Baghaei underscored, sharply rebuking Washington’s continued targeting of medical and healthcare centers, bridges, and installations upon which the daily livelihood of ordinary Iranians depends.

The spokesman further highlighted the compounded cruelty of such destruction amid the region’s life-threatening summer heat, stating that no words could adequately capture the grief of communities in southern Iran who have lost critical infrastructure during sweltering temperatures.

Emphasizing national solidarity in the face of external aggression, Baghaei dismissed any notion that Iran comprises disconnected or remote territories. “Iran is not a collection of remote and faraway islands that can be wounded in one part and expected to remain calm in the other,” he said. “If Hormozgan is wounded, Mazandaran will suffer; if Chabahar is targeted, Tehran’s heart will beat; and if a child in Ahvaz is frightened by the sound of an explosion, no Iranian in this land will sleep peacefully. Iran is one body, and every wound on every corner of it is a wound on this entire body.”

In a clear signal of Tehran’s multi-pronged strategy, Baghaei confirmed that diplomatic efforts are proceeding in tandem with the robust response of the country’s Armed Forces to any aggression. He acknowledged that Iran has received proposals and ideas from several mediators aimed at reducing tensions with the United States, though he stressed that defensive military readiness remains uncompromised.
