The Lebanese Army said Israeli forces occupation opened fire near its units during a deployment operation in southern Lebanon, warning the incident could disrupt ongoing coordination efforts.
In a statement issued by its Directorate of Guidance, the Army Command said that “while military units were carrying out the deployment operation in the town of Zawtar Al-Gharbiya – Nabatieh, the Israeli occupation forces opened fire near these units.”

The command warned that the incident “would hinder the implementation of deployment steps in the experimental areas that are being carried out within the framework of communications with the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L).”
The Lebanese Army started deploying in Zawtar Al-Gharbiya earlier on Tuesday morning, cautioning citizens to avoid travelling to the area in Nabatieh district “until the security situation stabilizes.”

The deployment comes as Israeli occupation forces go ahead with its attacks in violation of Lebanon sovereignty and the ceasefire which took place earlier last month.
The occupation forces carried out a series of demolition operations across southern Lebanese towns on Tuesday, including Mais Al-Jabal and the outskirts of Kawneen and Barashit, according to Al-Manar correspondent.
