A New York Times investigation has found that recent Iranian attacks on US military positions across the Middle East inflicted damage on multiple American facilities, underscoring Tehran’s continued ability to carry out precise strikes despite repeated claims by the Trump administration that Iran’s military capabilities had been significantly degraded or destroyed.
According to the newspaper, Iranian attacks targeting nine US sites across the region during the two weeks following the collapse of the ceasefire demonstrated that Iran retains the capacity to strike sensitive military targets with accuracy.

A visual analysis conducted by the New York Times of US military bases and other facilities concluded that the strikes damaged living quarters, operational work areas, drone shelters, radar systems, and other military infrastructure.
One of the attacks, which targeted Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, killed three US soldiers and wounded several others. A military official told the newspaper that nearly a dozen additional American troops sustained serious injuries in Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan and other countries this month, requiring their evacuation to a US military hospital in Germany for treatment.
The report added that four of the targeted locations, including Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, had already been struck during the early months of the war, when Iran launched attacks on a total of 18 military sites used by US forces across seven countries.
