Palestine’s Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said on Friday intensified Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in recent hours constitute a continuation of “genocidal war” against civilians and an attempt to undermine a ceasefire agreement.
In a statement, Hamas said Israeli occupation forces escalated their attacks by targeting residential and industrial areas across Gaza, including the Jabalia refugee camp and the Yarmouk and Zeitoun neighborhoods of Gaza City. It added that a mosque and surrounding homes were destroyed in the Bureij refugee camp, alongside evacuation orders issued for several neighborhoods.
Hamas said the Israeli government “continues to escalate its aggression and renege on all its commitments stipulated in the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement,” adding that military operations in Gaza “have not ceased since the agreement was signed.”
The group called on the United States, which it described as a sponsor of the agreement, as well as mediators and guarantor states, to “take immediate action” to halt what it termed ongoing violations and attacks.
The statement comes amid continued Israeli strikes across Gaza following the ceasefire deal in October 2025, with ongoing bombardment leaving high civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.

More than 1,180 people have been martyred and at least 3,810 others have been wounded since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, according to the Health Ministry.
