Israeli forces detained dozens of Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank on Saturday, with a wide-scale offensive reported in Nablus, where a joint attack by occupation forces and settlers led to fierce clashes and Palestinian martyrs.

Head of Tell Council said Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested at least 50 Palestinians from the town, west of Nablus in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli troops seized a house in the town and converted it into a field interrogation center, the official Voice of Palestine radio said.

It added that Israeli forces were carrying out extensive raids on homes across the town while surrounding it from all directions.

On Friday, Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered a “wide-scale military operation” in Palestinian villages across the West Bank following a deadly attack near the illegal Havat Gilad settlement that killed two Israeli soldiers and four Palestinians.

Palestinian sources reported that the violence was sparked as Israeli settlers attacked the town of Tell, which is close to the illegal settlement. Local and security sources said that the settlers opened live fire as Palestinians tried to protect their homes.

More Raids

Elsewhere across the West Bank, IOF carried out extensive raids and arrests, amid assaults on Palestinian citizens and gunfire attacks.

In Qalqilya, Israeli forces raided homes in the Al‑Marj area and Al‑Naqqar neighborhood of the city, and kidnaped Samir Hurani, father of three prisoners held in Israeli jails.

The IOF also stormed other areas of Qalqilya, kidnaping two young men from their homes in the village of Kafr Laqif and another one from the town of Ras Atiya.

In Nablus’s Hawara, Israeli forces opened fire and detained several young men in the town, while armed Jewish settlers attacked the village of Urif.

At the same time, IOF stormed the towns of Awarta and Qaryut and the village of al‑Lubban Al‑Sharqiya in Nablus, with no reported arrests.

In Jenin, Israeli forces stormed the town of Arraba and kidnaped a young man following a raid on his home in Qabatiya.

IOF also detained and assaulted several young men during a campaign in the village of Jalamah, north of Jenin.

In Bethlehem, Israeli forces stormed the area around Al-Deheisha refugee camp, where they fired tear gas canisters and assaulted a wounded young man.

In Tubas, IOF carried out raids on many homes in the city and Al-Fari’ah refugee camp.
