President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday met with House Speaker, Nabih Berri, at Baabda Palace on Wednesday, where they reviewed domestic and regional developments, with particular focus on the situation in southern Lebanon amid continued Israeli attacks on villages and towns, including the demolition and destruction of homes, and the need to halt what they described as hostile actions.
Aoun also briefed Berri on the outcome of his visit to the United States and his talks with senior U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
After the meeting, Berri said discussions focused on the president’s visit to Washington and the situation in southern Lebanon, adding that he was, “as always, pleased with the meeting.”
