Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri condemned the Israeli unprecedented bombardment of southern Lebanon, saying the use of 700 tons of explosives should serve as a wake-up call over the destruction inflicted by the Israeli war machine.
Commenting on the Israeli blasts that targeted the region of Shaqeef in Nabatieh district, as well as previous attacks across southern Lebanon, Berri said the scale of the explosions represented “a warning to national and humanitarian conscience.”

“The repercussions of the terrorist bombings, caused by 700 tons of explosives, which registered 3.8 on the seismic scale and were felt by Lebanese citizens from the south and the mountains to the outskirts of Beirut, will undoubtedly awaken national and humanitarian awareness of the atrocities committed by the Israeli war machine against humanity, heritage, culture, and infrastructure,” Berri said.
“If these repercussions do not awaken this awareness, then humanity and its future are certainly in danger,” he added.
