America Has Suffered a Strategic Defeat against Iran: The Telehraph

“The moment has arrived. The evidence is in. The jury has concluded its deliberations and the verdict is clear. Donald Trump’s war against the Islamic Republic of Iran can now be declared a strategic defeat for the most powerful nation on Earth,” The Telegraph mentioned in an article.

“It is with great reluctance and significant anguish that I reach this conclusion. There could not have been a better time for the campaign, coming after the 12-day war last June destroyed the regime’s air defenses and softened up its military.”

“This was driven by the awful truth that the regime would never reform and could only ever be defeated in battle. There was no alternative. This, then, was a case of right war, right time, wrong president.”

“The final nail in the coffin of America’s hopes came on Sunday, when Trump called off “the biggest attack since World War Two” (yeah, right!) amid talks that could hand Tehran at least partial control of the Strait of Hormuz.”

“After six months of on-off fighting which could cost upwards of a trillion dollars, the US and Gulf states now lack sufficient munitions, both offensive and defensive, to impose a decisive strategic outcome.”
