Southern Lebanon: Civilians Wounded, Displaced as Israeli Strikes Pound Tyre Towns

Smoke rises after Israeli strikes on southern Lebanese town of Burj Al-Shamali in Tyre district (August 6, 2026).

Israeli enemy launched significant attacks across southern Lebanon, intensifying overnight into a dawn offensive targeting the Tyre district with airstrikes, artillery shelling, and drone attacks on residential areas.

In Burj Al-Shamali, Israeli drones struck the Al-Malab neighborhood three times before warplanes carried out a fourth airstrike on the same area, wounding civilians who were transferred to hospitals in Tyre. The attacks triggered a wave of displacement as residents fled toward the coastal city.

Warplanes also carried out three airstrikes on Al-Mansouri and the area between Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, as artillery shelling and tank fire hit surrounding areas.

The bombardment, which began the previous evening, had already targeted Al-Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, and nearby valleys before expanding at dawn to the outskirts of Haddatha. Israeli forces additionally opened machine-gun fire toward the coastal Al-Hamra area in the Byout Al-Seyyad village.

The attacks mark a continued intensification of Israeli aggression in southern Lebanon, amid ongoing violations targeting towns and civilian areas.
