The “Loyalty to Resistance” Parliamentary bloc convened on Thursday to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, issuing a statement that calls on the Lebanese authorities to stop the direct talks with the Israeli enemy.

The statement also rejected the government’s policy to surrendering to the Zionist barbarism amid the ongoing attacks on South Lebanon.

What follows is the full text of the statement:

The fortieth day of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), is a great occasion that gathers us around certainty in the truth, steadfastness upon it, and sacrifice for its victory. It is also about shouldering the religious, humanitarian, and moral responsibility to oppose injustice and aggression by all means and methods, beginning with statements and dialogue and extending to consolidating the stance and defending it even to the point of martyrdom, and rejecting all attempts of enticement or intimidation to make us concede, submit, or surrender.[Arbaeen]

In our present era, it is not hidden from any free-minded person the arrogant policy pursued by the American administration toward various countries and peoples who insist on their national and human right to freely and consciously choose the political approach that expresses their identity and interests, and upon which they build their regional and international relations — without being beholden to this or that influential power, and without being blackmailed over their sovereignty or dignity by anyone.

The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc held its periodic meeting, and after deliberating on several issues, issued the following statement:

First:
The Bloc strongly deplores the authority’s continued pursuit of a policy of submission, surrender, and humiliating negotiations with the Zionist enemy, which persists in killing, shelling, bulldozing, and destruction. Meanwhile, the authority continues its sessions with representatives of the enemy in Rome, disregarding all violations and grave breaches and the enemy’s failure to abide by any of the obligations of the ceasefire.
It appears the authority has resolved to adopt a policy of tolerance and good faith toward the enemy despite all of its open criminality against people and property. Its threat yesterday to the people of Al-Mansouri and forcing them to evacuate their town is further evidence of the misery and clear futility of the authority’s choices.
This was also confirmed by the recent statements of the American ambassador, who called for not placing hopes on the results of the Rome negotiations — something that clearly exposes the Israeli plan of procrastination and stalling.
In light of all these glaring developments, the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc once again calls on the authority to make up its mind and stop negotiating with the enemy, in order to halt the march of concessions that have provided neither security nor peace, and have brought Lebanon and the Lebanese nothing but further losses and the squandering of rights and sovereignty.

Second:
The Bloc paused at the scene of shame, disgrace, and betrayal of Lebanon and the Lebanese embodied by the meeting of the one who boasts of his Zionism, the so-called Antoine Saahnawi, with the Prime Minister of the enemy and his wife. This was a deeply provocative meeting for every honorable Lebanese and free citizen amid the escalating Zionist criminality against Lebanon on all levels.
The Bloc affirms that it was never surprised by the level of baseness, betrayal, and treachery of Saahnawi, after he had previously gone far in betraying the Lebanese through his partnership in stealing depositors’ money and donating part of it to the enemy entity.
What is surprising, however, is that the reaction of the Lebanese authorities was not proportionate to the enormity of his crime of high treason against the nation and its people. Therefore, the authority is called upon to act seriously and take full and adequate legal measures against him, to preserve the blood and rights of the Lebanese, so that it does not once again become a partner — from a new angle — in wasting their rights and squandering the rights of the nation.

Third:

The Bloc addressed the worsening manifestations of economic deterioration, the spread of corruption, and the growing logic of brokerage and deals, the policy of quota-sharing and “dividing the cheese” among pillars of the authority, particularly regarding appointments, promotions, and fictitious and unproductive projects.
The Bloc warns in this regard that the authority’s continued pursuit of this policy will inevitably lead to an acceleration of the deterioration and ultimately to economic collapse, with catastrophic consequences for the social situation and people’s livelihood, especially the poor and those with limited income.
The Bloc calls on the authority to conduct a comprehensive, deep, and precise review of its financial and tax policies, and to take quick and effective measures that can address the crisis and alleviate people’s suffering through a balanced and rational spending policy.

Fourth:
The Bloc condemns the continued American aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the threat to escalate and expand the war against it by the American administration. The Bloc believes that Washington’s open aggressive policies will not be able to deter the Islamic Republic from adhering to its and its people’s firm rights to sovereignty, independence, and scientific and nuclear technological development that serve Iran’s prosperity and the progress and welfare of its people.

Fifth:
The Bloc expresses its strong condemnation of the ongoing and escalating Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the systematic abuse practiced by the occupation forces against our people, the sons of the Palestinian people.
The Bloc sees in the immense steadfastness of the Palestinians and their adherence to their rights and their remaining on their land conclusive proof that this great, patient, and enduring people will, through its patience and steadfastness, be able to break the cycle of Zionist terrorism and usher in a new dawn for Palestine, no matter how great the sacrifices and how long it takes.
