Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Sunday fresh retaliatory strike targeting Saudi Arabia’s Aramco energy facility in response to violations of Sanaa’s sovereignty by Riyadh.

In a statement, Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the strike employed a drone, which “accurately and successfully targeted” Aramco facility in Jazan.

The precise strike was carried out in response to “provocative actions” by Saudi Arabia, which Brig. Gen. Saree said had flown reconnaissance and spy drones over northern provinces of Saadah and Hajjah in recent days.

For its part, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry confirmed that fire broke out at Aramco refinery facility in Jazan. It added that has been extinguished.

Meanwhile, reports said explosions were heard in Saudi Jazan and Eastern provinces.
