Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said on Sunday that the United States has admitted defeat in its war on the Islamic Republic, noting that the Strait of Hormuz turns to be a geographical battleground rather than an economic passage.

Addressing at a ceremony marking Journalists’ Day in Bandar Abbas, Brig. Gen. Mohebbi said that the war on Iran is the only war in which the United States has admitted defeat without achieving any gains.

He emphasized that “unwavering resistance and defeating the enemy remain our unchangeable strategy”.

The Islamic Republic “quickly forced its adversaries to abandon their objectives and seek the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz,” he stated.

Brig. Gen. Mohebbi said geography, after years of being sidelined in military calculations, has returned forcefully to the center of warfare.

Strait of Hormuz has become more than an economic corridor, he said, adding that the strategic waterway is now a “tool of power and war” in global confrontations.

Meanwhile, the Iranian commander emphasized the role of media in the latest confrontation.

“Today, the media is not only a narrator of war, but itself one of the main and formative dimensions of the war,” he said, describing journalists as frontline officers in the cognitive battlefield.
