Hezbollah: Israeli Map Exposes Expansionist Designs on Lebanon, Concessions Put Country at Greater Risk

Hezbollah Statements

Hezbollah warned on Sunday that the Israeli occupation entity pursues broader territorial schemes in Lebanon after the Israeli Foreign Ministry published a map that it said incorporates occupied southern Lebanese territory into the occupied lands, warning that Beirut’s concessions and direct negotiations with Israel could expose the country to grave new risks.

In a statement, Hezbollah said the map offered undeniable confirmation of the Zionist enemy’s designs toward Lebanon, its territory, natural resources, and national assets, arguing that Israel had never abandoned those schemes and would not do so.

“The Israeli enemy’s decision to engage in direct negotiations with the Lebanese authorities was merely a transparent attempt to buy time and impose new realities on the ground.”

Hezbollah held the Lebanese authorities fully responsible, accusing them of persisting in a policy of concessions and making unilateral concessions to the Zionist entity.

It called on the authorities to undertake a comprehensive review of their approach, halt the humiliating direct negotiations with “Israel” conducted without meaningful leverage, and act immediately at every level, from the government to the Higher Defense Council.

“An emergency session should be convened to determine the measures needed to confront this serious development, foremost among them filing an urgent complaint with the UN Security Council. Even if the Lebanese authorities had pledged not to pursue the Israeli occupation through international forums, there was no longer any justification for ignoring the enemy’s territorial schemes in Lebanon,” the group added.

Hezbollah urged Lebanese people across the country’s political and sectarian spectrum to recognize the scale of the risks it said the government was exposing Lebanon to by continuing along the path of concessions and negotiations.

It also called for a unified national position against the occupation and its expansionist designs and for the defense of Lebanon’s sovereignty and its full rights to its territory and natural resources.

The statement concluded by warning that the Israeli occupation’s schemes were not confined to southern Lebanon but extended to the country as a whole.
