IRGC Commander Felicitates Rezaei on Appointment as Secretary of SNSC: You Possess Strategic Mindset Coordinating Field with Diplomacy

The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, sent a message on Monday to “Dear brother, Dr. Mohsen Rezaei, the esteemed representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.” In the message, Vahidi offered Rezaei his “sincere congratulations and best wishes on your well-deserved and wise appointment as the representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the Supreme National Security Council and Secretary of this Council.”

He continued, “Your unique and distinguished record in various fields, particularly your 16 years of command of the IRGC, especially during the eight-year Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq War), the establishment of the IRGC Intelligence Organization, your 24 years as Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council, your role as Vice President for Economic Affairs, and your pivotal role in preparing the country’s future vision document, demonstrate your exceptional capabilities in managing the current complex and strategic circumstances.”

He also noted, “Your presence, as prominent and experienced figures in the Islamic Republic, possessing a strategic and forward-looking mindset, on the Supreme National Security Council can undoubtedly advance strategic coordination between the field and diplomacy, and between economic and political security, in line with the approach of resistance and hopeful governance.”

He further announced that “the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as the arm of the Supreme Leader, is ready for any cooperation in order to implement the directives of the General Command of the Armed Forces.”
