Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stressed on Sunday that the Islamic Republic triumphed militarily and politically against the United States and ‘Israel’.

In remarks cited by Iranian media, Ghalibaf declared that Iran successfully thwarted the primary military objectives of its adversaries and must now focus on protecting, consolidating, and strengthening that victory.

“The US and Israel failed to achieve any of the strategic goals they outlined at the beginning of the war,” he stated, according to Iranian media.

Ghalibaf further said that the aggression, launched on February 28, was a “cowardly war led by the US and the Zionist regime,” adding that the Iranian people fought “bravely, manfully and sincerely.”

The Iranian speaker pointed to Tehran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz as premier geopolitical deterrent and negotiation leverage of the Islamic Republic.

He noted that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Washington was “a document of honor and victory” that consolidated Tehran’s diplomatic achievements.
