Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir will travel to Tehran on Monday at the head of an official delegation, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei has announced.
Baqaei told reporters on Sunday that Munir’s visit is taking place in line with Pakistan’s ongoing good offices to contribute to the reinforcement of peace and stability in the region.
The Iranian spokesperson said Munir would meet and hold talks with senior Iranian officials during his visit.
The visit comes as Iran and Pakistan have been consulting on regional developments and efforts to enhance peace, stability and security in West Asia.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with Munir on Saturday evening on the latest regional developments and effective ways to strengthen peace, stability and security in the region.
Baqaei’s announcement comes amid Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate regional dialogue and contribute to de-escalation and stability.
Iran and the United States signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Islamabad on June 18, 2026, which ended the US‑Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic that they had waged on February 28.
