“The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, stated that ‘claims by U.S. officials regarding the possibility of oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz are mostly media hype, and the capabilities of the IRGC cannot be limited merely to the radars known to the enemy.’
He explained that ‘the monitoring operations carried out by the IRGC are conducted using means that the opposing side may not yet be able to detect,’ asking, ‘If we did not have a watchful eye to track maritime movements, how could we have hit specific targets at sensitive points on vessels?’
He also stated, ‘If the enemy believes that the destruction of a number of radars has led to the demise of our monitoring capability, this conception is far from reality,’ noting that ‘the enemy cannot discover all the details of how Iran tracks targets.'”
