‘Israel’ fears that a large-scale attack on the Ali Al-Taher Heights in southern Lebanon could trigger Iranian missile or drone retaliation and potentially reignite wider fighting, the Israeli newspaper Maariv reported, citing an Israeli security source.
The source said such concerns, coupled with US pressure for ‘Israel’ to continue withdrawing from southern Lebanon, have led the Israeli army to carry out limited operations in the area rather than launch a major offensive.
According to the report, the source acknowledged the difficulty of maintaining long-term control over Lebanese territory, saying that “Israel has no option but to withdraw from southern Lebanon.”
“Underground Facility”
Maariv further reported claims that Israeli forces have surrounded an alleged underground command-and-control Hezbollah facility in the Ali Al-Taher Heights, in Nabatieh district, for more than two months, purportedly “trapping dozens of Hezbollah resistance fighters and an unspecified number of Iranian Revolutionary Guard personnel inside.”
The Israeli army carried out fresh attacks targeting Ali Al-Taher and the surrounding area in Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon.

The source claimed that Israeli occupation forces control the access routes to the alleged facility and have been targeting the area from the ground and air.
Despite this, the source said Tel Aviv does not intend to withdraw from the surrounding area or allow those allegedly inside the facility to leave.
