Israeli occupation forces launched a fresh wave of heavy artillery shelling and airstrikes across southern Lebanon on Sunday, targeting the Zawtar River corridor, the Ali al-Taher heights, and the outskirts of multiple towns in what appears to be a systematic campaign of bombardment despite a nominal ceasefire agreement.
Al-Manar’s correspondent on the ground reported that Israeli artillery shelling targeted the course of the Zawtar River, with simultaneous strikes pounding the Ali al-Taher heights. Israeli warplanes also carried out a series of airstrikes on Wadi al-Salouqi and Tell Ali al-Taher in the Nabatieh district areas that have witnessed near-daily bombardment in recent weeks.
Artillery fire also struck the outskirts of Mansouri and Bayt al-Sayyad, while the Doha Kfar Rumman area was subjected to intermittent shelling throughout the day.

Saturday’s Prelude to Violence
Sunday’s attacks follow an intense wave of Israeli airstrikes launched Saturday against multiple locations across southern Lebanon, including Tell Ali al-Taher, the city of Nabatieh, and a building near the slaughterhouse district. Those strikes were accompanied by artillery shelling between the towns of Haris and Haddatha, marking one of the most intense single-day bombardments in recent weeks.
A Mounting Toll
The sustained aggression has exacted a devastating human cost. According to an updated statement from the Public Health Emergency Operations Center at Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health, the total death toll since the conflict began on March 2 has now reached 4,352 martyrs, with 12,318 wounded—figures that continue to climb as strikes persist.

Systematic Ceasefire Violations
The latest attacks fall within what Lebanese officials and international observers describe as Israel’s continued pattern of violating the ceasefire agreement. Despite the nominal halt to hostilities, the Israeli military has deliberately bombarded southern villages and towns with artillery shells, airstrikes, and drone attacks on an almost daily basis.
Beyond the direct strikes, local sources report that Israeli occupation forces have systematically burned agricultural fields, blown up and bulldozed homes and civilian infrastructure, and repeatedly targeted non-combatants raising serious concerns about potential war crimes under international humanitarian law.
The attacks have devastated swaths of southern Lebanon’s agricultural heartland, with farmers unable to tend their lands as shelling continues unabated. Entire villages have been reduced to rubble, while the targeting of infrastructure has crippled essential services in affected areas.
