Hezbollah MP Hasan Ezzeddine lashed out at “blatant US meddling” in Lebanon’s internal affairs, criticizing Washington’s ambassador for defending the Israeli enemy and calling for Hezbollah to surrender its weapons while Israeli forces continue to violate Lebanese sovereignty.
In remarks addressing a local ceremony celebrating Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) birth anniversary, MP Ezzeddine said the US Ambassador Michel Issa’s stance was “flagrant and insulting interference” that violates diplomatic norms and undermines Lebanon’s national dignity.
Addressing those he called “pretenders to sovereignty,” MP Ezzeddine questioned their silence as “the Israeli enemy violates the sovereignty of this nation day and night.”
The member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance bloc further criticized Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji for what he described as his failure to respond to the US envoy’s remarks.

“Where is the Lebanese foreign minister in all of this? What measures has he taken against the ambassador?” MP Ezzeddine asked. “Isn’t this meddling in internal affairs?”
He said the minister had remained silent because the issue involved “America that supports the Israeli enemy,” arguing that the US ambassador should instead be required to respect diplomatic boundaries.
Addressing US’ Issa directly, the Hezbollah lawmaker said: “Leave Lebanon alone. Lebanon knows how to protect and preserve its national interests.”
“As long as there is land occupied by the Israeli enemy, the resistance and its weapons are here to stay, will remain and will continue,” he said, stressing that Hezbollah would maintain its armed resistance despite the sacrifices it has made.
“If the American ambassador wants to help Lebanon, let him work to expel the Israeli occupier and stop its crimes,” MP Ezzeddine said, accusing the US administration of providing political cover for Israeli aggression.
Hezbollah, he added, places no trust in Washington as a guarantor of peace.
“America has no right to speak of peace or guarantees to any country or any person, because we do not trust it; it is a partner with the enemy,” MP Ezzeddine said.
“We only trust our resistance and our weapons, which we will not relinquish,” he added, stressing that Hezbollah would continue its confrontation until the Israeli enemy is ultimately driven from occupied Lebanese territory.
Last week, US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa said that Washington has not, so far, reached an agreement with Tel Aviv to halt its assaults.
Apparently, asking ‘Israel’ to stop its daily attacks on southern Lebanon is asking it to “do everything," according to US Ambassador Michel Issa's logic!

He said it clear: Washington has not agreed with Tel Aviv to halt bombing Lebanon.

Issa, meanwhile, made it clear that Washington is instead pressing disarmament of Hezbollah Lebanese resistance group as the condition for ‘Israel’ to fulfill its own obligations under the ceasefire that was lately reached in June.
