The Israeli occupation army and the Shin Bet internal security agency announced on Monday the launch of a large-scale military operation in the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) in the southern occupied West Bank, saying it will continue for several days.
In a joint statement, the two bodies said Israeli forces carried out overnight raids in the Jabal Jawhar neighborhood, claiming that the operation was aimed at seizing weapons. They added that the operation would involve heavy military vehicle movements and would last for several days.
Local sources told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that Israeli forces arrested seven Palestinians, including a 13-year-old boy, from several towns in the Hebron area.

The sources also said Israeli forces raided and searched homes and assaulted residents.
Israel’s Channel 12 quoted sources as saying that hundreds of soldiers and special units had been deployed to Hebron as part of the operation.
