Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed threats against Syria from Mount Hermon, stating that they would not allow any army to position itself on their borders, claiming Israeli military control over the entire region stretching from Mount Hermon to the Yarmouk River and from Mount Hermon to the Mediterranean Sea.
On another note, Netanyahu reiterated what he called his country’s commitment to overthrowing the regime in Iran, describing it as the primary remaining task to settle the confrontation with it—ignoring his country’s failure in this task across two wars and the criticism following him in foreign media regarding misleading intelligence provided by the Mossad to the Americans, promising to end the war within days before dragging the United States into a quagmire it has not escaped due to Iranian resilience, according to foreign press.
For his part, Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened Syria from the same location, saying: “I am once again at the summit of Mount Hermon, this time accompanied by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. From here, we observe the municipalities of the Golan and the Galilee, and we keep an eye on Hezbollah strongholds in the Lebanese Beqaa. From here, we send a very strong and direct message to the Syrian President, sitting 35 kilometers away down in Damascus: We are present here on Mount Hermon in the security zone and we will not move from here, in order to protect our territory from the threats of any jihadi party on this side of the border and inside Syrian territory. Here, IDF forces operate day and night to thwart and destroy the infrastructure of jihadi forces to protect the residents of the Golan, the Galilee, and the entire state, and our actions will continue against all threats, whether the Shia axis led by Iran or the Sunni axis led by extremist Islamic parties in the region.”
