Lebanese President Joseph Aoun visited the city of Nabatieh on an inspection tour of institutions and facilities damaged by Israeli attacks, accompanied by Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal and security agency chiefs.
President Aoun began his tour by inspecting the Nabatieh Serail, which sustained extensive damage in hostile airstrikes. He was briefed on the scale of the damage to the administrative facility. He also inspected the Central Bank of Lebanon building in the city, which was destroyed in an Israeli warplane strike.
The president then visited the Nabatieh Municipality building, accompanied by MP Nasser Jaber and Nabatieh Mayor Abbas Fakhreddine. He inspected the building, which was destroyed during the 66-day aggression that resulted in the killing of former Mayor Dr. Ahmad Kaheel, along with several municipal members and employees and civilians.
Aoun continued his tour with a visit to the Shouf Union of Municipalities, where he met with Union President Khaled Badreddine. He was briefed on conditions in the area and its municipalities, as well as the challenges they face amid damage to a number of facilities and structures.
He also visited Nabih Berri Governmental Hospital in Nabatieh, where he met with Director General Dr. Hassan Wazneh and a number of doctors and was briefed on the hospital’s conditions and the nature of its operations.

Speaking outside Nabatieh Governmental Hospital, Aoun thanked the hospital staff and praised their resilience under difficult circumstances.
“We are here to thank the hospital staff for their resilience, and we are proud of them because, despite the difficult circumstances, they risked and continue to risk their lives to provide the minimum level of medical services,” he said.
President Aoun stressed that his visit to the hospital was in recognition of the efforts made by its staff, particularly amid the circumstances created by the attacks and the damage inflicted on the area and its institutions.
The Lebanese president’s tour also included the town of Zawtar Al-Gharbiya as part of his broader visit to the Nabatieh region and his inspection of a number of towns and official and healthcare institutions damaged during the period of aggression.
The presidential tour of Nabatieh comes as the impact of the attacks remains visible across a number of buildings and institutions. Inspecting the damaged sites and assessing the condition of healthcare and administrative institutions were key focuses of the visit.
