The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said allegations that it targeted vital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia last Friday were a “distinction we do not claim,” while expressing readiness to participate in a government investigation committee to establish the facts.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the group said, “While we congratulate the steadfast Yemeni people on their continued battlefield victories against Saudi forces and their mercenaries, we affirm that the allegations against the Iraqi resistance regarding the targeting of vital Saudi facilities last Friday are a distinction we do not claim. At the same time, we express our surprise at the Iraqi government’s haste in endorsing these claims without relying on credible evidence or concrete investigations.”

“The repeated policy of leveling accusations and diverting attention is nothing more than a failed attempt to cover up the successive defeats suffered by Saudi forces and their proxies at the hands of the steadfast people of Yemen,” the group added.

“As we reiterate the Iraqi resistance’s steadfast position in supporting the oppressed Yemeni people, who have been besieged by the Saudi regime for more than a decade, we warn against being drawn into the malicious Zionist-US schemes seeking to drag Iraq into crises that serve only its enemies.”

The group concluded it was prepared “to participate in any government investigation committee with the aim of establishing the truth, rather than following suspicious narratives.”
