Iranian security and intelligence forces have captured more than 470 individuals across three provinces, identified as key figures behind a recent wave of violent unrest and terrorist activities linked to foreign-backed networks.
In Khorasan Razavi province, the Intelligence Ministry announced the arrest of 192 armed individuals, described as the main agents behind recent riots. According to an official statement, the detainees were involved in killing security personnel and civilians, setting fire to mosques and public facilities, and attacking military and law enforcement centers. Seized items included bulletproof vests, Kalashnikov rifles, hunting and Winchester rifles, along with various cold weapons such as daggers, swords, brass knuckles, and crossbows. Evidence indicated some detainees were linked to hostile movements and terrorist organizations abroad, while others were members of violent criminal gangs.
Simultaneously, in Lorestan province, the IRGC announced the arrest of 134 individuals identified as the main leaders and field agents of a US-Israeli terrorist network. According to the IRGC statement, these individuals formed terrorist cells during the recent unrest, committing “Daesh-like” acts. Their actions included wounding security forces with firearms and cold weapons, and burning and destroying public and private properties, including mosques, shops, banks, and vehicles.
In Zanjan province, police reported detaining 150 people identified as principal leaders and agents behind recent riots. Authorities stated these individuals were responsible for destroying property, intentionally setting fire to vehicles, attempting to enter military sites, disrupting public order, and spreading terror among citizens. A variety of cold weapons were seized from this group.
The unrest began late last month as peaceful protests over economic hardship but turned violent after public statements by US and Israeli figures encouraged vandalism and disorder. During this period, foreign-backed elements reportedly killed security forces and civilians and damaged public property across Iranian cities.
