Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the late Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah succeeded in transforming resistance from a limited organizational movement into a “deterrence doctrine,” stressing that Nasrallah was not merely a political and religious leader but also a strategist, field commander, and jihadist leader.
In a message marking the second anniversary of Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah’s martyrdom, Qalibaf said Sayyed Nasrallah’s precise understanding of the region’s geopolitics elevated Lebanon’s Hezbollah to a level at which it completely redrew the security equations of the Zionist regime.
Qalibaf added that Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah was among the leaders who forged an enduring and inseparable link between the battlefield and the people, faith and politics, and principle and action, transforming the battlefield into a tool for consolidating sustainable security.
Qalibaf said that, in Nasrallah’s vision, Lebanon, Iran, Palestine, and the other arenas of resistance were not separate entities but interconnected components of a historic responsibility to confront occupation and aggression.
He noted that, in the memory of the resistance, Nasrallah’s name is associated not only with his role as secretary-general of Hezbollah but also with years of steadfastness, prudence, and fidelity to his pledge, to which he remained committed until his martyrdom.
Qalibaf said the enemy had believed that targeting and eliminating the leader would bring the resistance to a halt but had failed to understand that Nasrallah had established a deeply rooted and cohesive structure that did not depend on a single individual—one that continues to maintain its deterrent capability today.
The Iranian parliament speaker stressed that what Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah left behind goes beyond his name and memory. It is a human and intellectual legacy carried through the experiences of generations of the resistance, the faith of the mujahideen, and the will of peoples seeking dignity and freedom.
“The enemy believed that eliminating the leader would bring the resistance to a halt. But it failed to understand that Nasrallah had established a deeply rooted and cohesive structure that did not depend on a single individual but on a strong and stable system that continues to maintain its deterrent capability today,” Qalibaf concluded.
