In an address marking the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the Master of the Ummah’s Martyrs Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and the Hashemite Martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, Lebanese Member of Parliament Mohammad Raad delivered a speech centered on honoring the families of martyred fighters and reinforcing the Resistance Group’s political and military stances
Speaking at a gathering organized for the families of martyrs and wounded combatants, MP Raad, who leads Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc, described the families as the true pillars of national honor and resilience. He emphasized that the sacrifices made by their sons, brothers, and husbands serve as the foundational support for the movement’s ongoing struggle.
Addressing the mothers, wives, and daughters of the martyrs, MP Raad rejected descriptions of them as broken or defeated, asserting instead that their patience and steadfastness reflect moral strength. He compared their endurance to historical figures of sacrifice in Islamic tradition, specifically highlighting the families’ role in raising generations dedicated to resistance.
MP Raad extended special recognition to the combatants who were injured in the widespread pager explosions, praising their resolve despite their injuries. He described their continued commitment as a living testament to faith, conviction, and unwavering dedication to the movement’s cause.
In his analysis of the regional situation, the lawmaker stressed Israeli occupation forces pursue expansionist plans across the Middle East, including ambitions extending into Lebanon and neighboring nations. He argued that diplomatic efforts or attempts at appeasement by regional governments would prove ineffective in stopping these aggressive aims.
Reflecting on the legacy of the martyred leaders Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, MP Raad stated that neither leader sought political power, governmental positions, or personal influence. Instead, he noted, their strategic vision was focused on liberating occupied territories, restoring national dignity, and strengthening regional defense capabilities.
Turning to internal Lebanese affairs and potential diplomatic negotiations, MP Raad declared that Hezbollah will firmly reject any agreement that surrenders national rights, compromises territorial sovereignty, or imposes political conditions. He insisted that any withdrawal of foreign forces must occur unconditionally without concessions or normalization agreements.
Concluding his address, MP Raad reaffirmed allegiance to Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem and Hezbollah’s leadership council. He called for internal unity among supporters, broader national consensus where achievable, and continued readiness to defend Lebanon against future military and political pressures.
