Iran has summoned the Norwegian ambassador in Tehran to lodge a formal diplomatic protest over Oslo’s continued inaction regarding unauthorized Starlink satellite internet operations within Iranian territory, a network the Islamic Republic accuses the United States and the Israeli regime of heavily weaponizing for espionage and subversion.

Mohammad Hassannejad Pirkoohi, Director General for International Peace and Security at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, summoned Paul Beijer Nestad, the Norwegian Ambassador to Tehran, on Sunday to deliver an official note of protest.

During the meeting, Pirkoohi outlined the systematic abuse of the Starlink satellite network by the Washington and Tel Aviv to advance interventionist agendas against the Islamic Republic.

He sharply criticized Norway for failing to fulfill its legal obligations as the registering state for the Starlink network at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

“Based on the decisions of the ITU’s Radio Regulations Board (RRB) in recent years, the Norwegian government is obligated to take the necessary measures to prevent unauthorized Starlink transmissions within Iran’s territory,” Pirkoohi emphasized.

He noted that despite repeated follow-ups by the Islamic Republic, Norway has taken no effective action to halt these sovereignty-violating broadcasts.

The Iranian official demanded the immediate reflection of Tehran’s demands to the Norwegian government, urging Oslo to take swift action to stop the activities that compromise Iran’s national security and territorial sovereignty.
