Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh, where talks focused on general conditions and the latest political and field developments.
The meeting also addressed pressing social and economic challenges, as well as the outcome of Salam’s recent visits to the United States and his tour of Nabatieh and the projects launched there.
Discussions focused on the need for a comprehensive solution to Lebanon’s electricity crisis, either through a build-operate-transfer (BOT) system or through a Lebanese-international agreement aimed at reaching a lasting solution for the sector.
Berri later reviewed general developments, particularly financial conditions, with Banque du Liban Governor Karim Souaid.
He also received Association of Lebanese Industrialists President Salim Zeenni, in the presence of Rabah Jaber, for talks on the industrial sector and the association’s current and future programs.
