Iran’s Defense Ministry spokesman cautioned Tuesday that any new war would trigger a stronger response from the Islamic Republic using more advanced weapons, announcing that the country’s arms production capacity has reached 2.5 times its pre-war level.
Speaking at a press conference, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik said enemy psychological operations and recent moves suggesting the possibility of renewed aggression would “definitely be met with a decisive response and heavier defeats for the enemy.”
Describing the “elimination of the US from the region” and the suppression of the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression as achievements of Iran’s defense against the recent US-Israeli war imposed on the country, he said, “The punishment of the American and Zionist murderers is the firm resolve of the Islamic Republic and will never be forgotten.”
The spokesman announced that Iran’s weapons production capacity has reached 2.5 times its level before the war, saying the increase had been achieved by utilizing the full capacity of the country’s defense industries.
He described the strategic depth of Iran’s defense industries as an important component of the country’s power, saying it has increased Iran’s resilience in confronting its adversaries.
On the production of offensive equipment, Talaei-Nik said production plans are being updated in line with developments in warfare, under the direction of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and based on requirements announced by military commanders.
He added that Iran has the capacity to produce more than 1,000 weapons systems and pieces of military equipment, some of which can be upgraded and produced in greater quantities in line with an offensive approach.
“If the enemy makes a wrong calculation, it will definitely face more advanced weapons and a heavy response from the Armed Forces,” Talaei-Nik warned.
He also said cooperation and convergence among Iran, Russia and China has a longstanding precedent, adding that active ties among the three countries have been supported by all three sides.
“Exchanges of views with these two countries in the defense field are on the agenda,” he added.
