Iran’s nuclear industry remains fully operational and resilient, undeterred by ongoing foreign pressures, sanctions, and targeted hostile actions, according to Mohammad Eslami, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).
As reported by Nour News, Eslami underscored the robust oversight maintained by the country’s nuclear safety authority. He stated that the agency’s safety system actively monitors more than 6,600 licensed facilities across the nation, ensuring rigorous performance control while directly supervising approximately 85,000 radiation workers nationwide.
Eslami delivered his remarks during the inauguration of Iran’s first specialized academic center dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric cancer, highlighting the peaceful, life-saving medical applications driving the nation’s nuclear advancements.
Full Wartime Radiological Readiness
In a parallel development at the 20th International Nuclear Forum in Russia, Iran outlined its technical preparedness and emergency response capabilities for managing wartime radiological incidents.

Dr. Mohammad Reza Kardan, Vice President of the AEOI and Head of the Iranian National Nuclear Safety System Center, detailed the Islamic Republic’s defense and response strategies during his address at the summit in Obninsk. The international conference, held under the theme “Nuclear Technology Safety: Preparedness and Emergency Response,” was organized by Russia’s state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom, at its Technical Academy.
During the forum, delegates examined comprehensive emergency response frameworks alongside the operational expertise and technical capabilities of Russia and other participating nations.
