Yemeni military sources reported advances against Saudi-backed forces in Taiz governorate, saying the Yemeni Armed Forces were completing their expulsion from all areas of Jabal Habashi district and had repelled an attack south of Bab Al-Mandab.
A military source told Yemeni media on Friday that an assault by Saudi-backed forces advancing from Lahj toward the area south of Bab Al-Mandab had been repelled, leaving dozens dead or wounded and several military vehicles destroyed or disabled.
The source added that operations were ongoing to expel the Saudi-backed forces from the remaining areas of Jabal Habashi district.

Two days earlier, a military source announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces had recaptured Jabal Matran in Taiz and seized a large quantity of military equipment, including vehicles and various weapons. The source also reported the expulsion of Saudi-backed forces from Al-Salw district.
The reports further confirmed the death of Abdul Rahman Al-Shamsani, commander of the Saudi-backed 35th Armored Brigade, in Jabal Matran, Taiz governorate.
