The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has discussed regional developments with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, stressing the need to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
Araghchi held a phone conversation with Aoun on Wednesday to discuss developments in Lebanon and the wider region.
During the call, Araghchi stressed Iran’s particular concern over Israeli attacks and aggression against Lebanon and called for an end to the aggression and occupation in southern Lebanon.
He also briefed Aoun on Iran’s diplomatic efforts and initiatives in recent days and weeks.
For his part, Aoun emphasized the priority and necessity of diplomatic solutions to regional crises.
The two sides also discussed expanding bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon and continuing contacts and dialogue between officials of the two countries.
