Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah on Thursday warned Lebanese authorities that any measures against its fighters and military capabilities would have serious repercussions for domestic stability.

In a statement, MP Fadlallah accused Lebanese authorities of exploiting the detention of a resistance vehicle at the Dahr Al-Baydar checkpoint to target the Resistance.

He denounced what he described as a political and media campaign serving the Israeli enemy, arguing that it had overshadowed Israel’s continued attacks on civilians and occupied Lebanese villages.

He said the Resistance had initially sought to address the incident discreetly to preserve domestic calm and prevent Israeli enemy from exploiting internal divisions. However, he maintained that the authorities’ handling of the case had compelled him to clarify the Resistance’s position.

Demanding the vehicle’s return, the Hezbollah lawmaker said the Resistance had contacted the relevant security and judicial authorities immediately after the vehicle was stopped at Dahr Al-Baydar, informing them that the vehicle and its cargo belonged to the Resistance and demanding the release of those detained and the return of the equipment.

“These are capabilities used by the Resistance in confronting the Israeli occupation of our land in the south,” he said, rejecting attempts to manufacture political and media controversy around the incident.

MP Fadlallah argued that the equipment was intended exclusively for confronting the Israeli occupation, stressing that the Resistance’s weapons were directed against ‘Israel’. He noted that explosive devices had been used by resistance factions since 1982 and were a longstanding component of their military capabilities.

He also criticized the Lebanese government’s response to continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon, accusing the authorities of remaining silent in the face of crimes against civilians while launching a campaign against the Resistance.

“March 2 Decision Unconstitutional”

Turning to the government’s March 2 decision concerning the Resistance, MP Fadlallah stressed it was unconstitutional and contrary to the national pact and human rights law.

“For our people, it is a null and void decision, and we do not recognize any of its effects on the ground,” he said, accusing the government of adopting the measure under external pressure.

He argued that the Resistance’s legitimacy stemmed from its role in confronting the Israeli occupation, rather than from decisions issued by a government he accused of relinquishing its responsibilities to defend Lebanese sovereignty and protect its people.

Fadlallah further warned against attempts by Lebanese officials to implement US and Israeli demands, saying such policies risked undermining national stability and deepening internal divisions.

“We caution this authority against the consequences of persisting in its actions,” he said, urging officials to reverse the measures targeting the Resistance and warning that it would defend its people and military capabilities against any domestic efforts to undermine them.
